Best Smartwatches on Amazon (2026): 7 Picks for iPhone, Android and Runners

Short answer: With an iPhone, get the Apple Watch SE 3. With Android, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8, or a Garmin if battery matters more than apps. Runners on either phone should look at the Garmin Forerunner 165.

Your phone picks half of this for you. An Apple Watch won’t pair with an Android phone, and Samsung’s Galaxy Watch 8 won’t pair with an iPhone, so before you compare screens, sensors or straps, check what’s in your pocket. Then comes the real choice. Charge it nightly, or weekly?

How we picked

We started from Amazon’s Smartwatches best-seller list on October 28, 2026, and kept 16 watches with real owner feedback. For each we noted phone support, rated battery life and GPS, then read which topics owners raise most and how many of those mentions are negative. We added independent sources where they exist: Apple’s and Samsung’s own spec and support pages, MacRumors’ SE 3 vs Series 11 guide, and DC Rainmaker’s in-depth Forerunner 165 review.

The short version

  • iPhone, sensible budget: Apple Watch SE 3.
  • iPhone, want every health feature: Apple Watch Series 11.
  • Android: Samsung Galaxy Watch 8.
  • Runner on any phone: Garmin Forerunner 165.
  • Hate charging: Garmin vívoactive 6.
  • Least money, still with GPS: Amazfit Bip 6.
  • A 6-to-12-year-old: BIGGERFIVE Brave 2.

Battery is where watches split

Watch Phone Rated battery Battery mentions negative
Apple Watch SE 3 iPhone 18 hours 44%
Apple Watch Series 11 iPhone 24 hours 29%
Galaxy Watch 8 Android Not stated 73%
Forerunner 165 Both 11 days 22%
vívoactive 6 Both 11 days 23%
Amazfit Bip 6 Both 14 days 26%

The Apple watches charge fast, which softens the daily routine, and Apple says 15 minutes on the puck buys up to 8 hours of use on either model. The Galaxy Watch 8 is the outlier. Owners like the watch itself, at 85% positive on quality, but almost three in four battery comments are complaints.

The Apple pair

The SE 3 is the one most iPhone owners should buy. It has sleep score, sleep apnea notifications, temperature sensing and crash detection. Apple’s SE 3 spec page doesn’t list an ECG app or blood oxygen, and the screen tops out at 1,000 nits. Some owners find the 40 mm case small.

The Series 11 adds the ECG app, hypertension notifications, a brighter 2,000-nit screen and 6 more hours of rated battery. That’s worth paying for if a heart feature is the reason you want a watch. If not? Save the money.

Garmin: long battery, fewer apps

The Forerunner 165 is the runner’s pick. DC Rainmaker found its GPS tracks stayed close to far pricier multiband watches, even downtown. He also found the optical heart rate slow to settle in the first minutes of a hard start. It skips training readiness. Serious marathon plans may want the training load and readiness numbers that Garmin keeps for its pricier Forerunner models.

The vívoactive 6 is the everyday version, with 80+ sports apps and a smart wake alarm. Sleep-tracking mentions are only 58% positive, though, and some owners find the data confusing.

The budget and kids’ picks

The Amazfit Bip 6 gives you a big AMOLED screen, GPS and maps for far less. The catch? Staying power. 198 of 261 reliability mentions are complaints, and some owners say theirs quit after about 5 months. The BIGGERFIVE Brave 2 is a step counter with a few lockable games, not a phone. About 55% of its reliability mentions are negative, so keep the receipt.

What we left out

The Fitbit Versa 4 sells well, but 80% of its 551 connectivity mentions describe syncing trouble. We also skipped the camera-and-games kids’ watches. Kids love them, but their reliability mentions run 30% positive or lower.

FAQ

Does an Apple Watch work with an Android phone?

No. Apple's spec pages say the SE 3 and Series 11 need an iPhone 11 or later. If you use Android, look at Samsung, Garmin or Amazfit.

Does the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 work with an iPhone?

No. Samsung's support site lists the Watch8 series as incompatible with iOS because it relies on Google Play services. It needs Android 12 or later with at least 1.5 GB of RAM.

Which smartwatch has the longest battery life?

Of these picks, the Amazfit Bip 6 is rated for up to 14 days, and the Garmin vívoactive 6 and Forerunner 165 for up to 11 days. Apple rates the SE 3 at 18 hours and the Series 11 at 24 hours.

Can a smartwatch detect health problems?

Only within the limits the maker states. Apple says the Series 11's hypertension notifications aren't for people under 22 or anyone already diagnosed, and that temperature sensing isn't for medical use. Garmin calls its metrics close estimates. None of these replace a doctor.

How we put this together

We compared manufacturer specs and Amazon listing details, read the patterns in Amazon owner reviews (we refresh this snapshot regularly), and scored each product with our published rubric. We have not tested these units hands-on. When we do, the page will say so. Prices change constantly, so we link to the live price instead of quoting one.
