The deciding difference: who you’re juicing for
The Black+Decker’s 32 oz pitcher holds four glasses, and it has markings so you can measure for a recipe. The Elite Gourmet tops out at 3 cups. For a household of two that’s enough, and it takes up less room in the cabinet.
Yield is murkier than it looks. TechGearLab measured the CJ625 and found it excellent on lemons, roughly 150 mL from two, and a bit behind on oranges at 425 mL from three. Nobody we found has run the Elite Gourmet through the same test. Owners rate its output higher, though: 270 of 310 juice-output mentions are positive.
Where they differ
Noise. This is the CJ625’s biggest weakness. About 89% of the owners who mention noise say it’s loud. The Elite Gourmet is sold as a quiet motor, and owners don’t complain about it much.
Cleanup. Both rinse quickly. The Elite Gourmet scores 98% positive on cleaning, against 87% for the Black+Decker, and TechGearLab found the CJ625’s pulp screen much harder to pull out than its rivals’.
Pulp. The CJ625 lets you dial pulp up or down. TechGearLab found it left very little pulp in lime and lemon juice. The Elite has a fixed filter.
Power. The Elite Gourmet’s 40 W is modest, and it advertises that as an upgrade over common 25 W models. The CJ625’s spec table says 150 W, while also listing a 900 W “maximum power”. We’d ignore both numbers. A citrus reamer doesn’t need much.
What owners say
Both have a longevity problem, and it’s the same one. For the Black+Decker, 666 of 824 reliability mentions are negative, with stories of motors failing within months. For the Elite Gourmet, it’s 173 of 206, and some say it stopped within minutes of use. Neither is a buy-it-for-life appliance, so keep the box for the return window.
Where they shine is ease of use: 95% positive for the CJ625 and 98% for the Elite.
Our pick
For lemonade, limes for cocktails, or one glass of OJ, get the Elite Gourmet ETS623. It’s quieter, smaller and easier to clean. If you’re squeezing a bag of oranges for the whole family every weekend, the Black+Decker CJ625 and its 32 oz pitcher make more sense. Just expect noise.

FAQ
Which one gets more juice?
We couldn't find a side-by-side test. TechGearLab measured the CJ625 at about 150 mL from two lemons, the best of its group, and 425 mL from three medium oranges, slightly behind rivals. On Amazon, 87% of Elite Gourmet juice-output mentions are positive against 78% for the Black+Decker.
Is the Black+Decker CJ625 loud?
Owners think so. 1,203 of its 1,352 noise mentions are negative, about 89%, and TechGearLab also called it a bit loud. Elite Gourmet markets the ETS623 as a quiet motor, and noise isn't a common complaint in its reviews.
Can these juice grapefruit?
Both list grapefruit, but small cones struggle with big fruit. The CJ625 has two cones, which helps. In TechGearLab's test its grapefruit yield was the lowest of the group, if only slightly.
Are they dishwasher safe?
The removable parts on both go on the top rack. Elite Gourmet's listing recommends hand washing for the longest life, and its spec table says hand wash only, so it contradicts itself a little.

How we put this together
We compared manufacturer specs and Amazon listing details, read the patterns in Amazon owner reviews (we refresh this snapshot regularly), and scored each product with our published rubric. We have not tested these units hands-on. When we do, the page will say so. Prices change constantly, so we link to the live price instead of quoting one.
