Roborock Qrevo S Pro vs Qrevo CurvX: Is the Upgrade Worth It?

Short answer: The Qrevo S Pro, for most homes. It does the same daily jobs with far fewer reliability complaints. Buy the CurvX only if your sofas and beds sit under 3.8 inches or long hair keeps jamming your brushes.

  • Your sofa or bed is too low for a 3.8-inch robot
  • You have thick door thresholds or rug edges up to about 1.6 inches
  • Long human hair or pet fur constantly wraps your current brush

Both robots live in the same kind of home: one with hard floors to mop, a few rugs, and an owner who’d rather never touch a dust bin. Both docks empty the robot into a bag, wash the spinning mops in hot water and dry them with 113°F air. So what’s the CurvX’s extra money buying? Mostly height, sensors and climbing. Whether that’s worth it comes down to your furniture.

The deciding difference: reliability

This is what tips it. The CurvX listing has 287 reliability mentions, and 215 of them are negative, many describing units that quit within a few months. Its getting-stuck topic is 71% complaints. The S Pro has 6,855 ratings and reliability isn’t among its main topics at all. Its mapping comes out 87% positive across 243 mentions.

That’s not a lab result. It’s a pattern in owner feedback, and the CurvX is the more complicated machine, with a lifting chassis and a retracting turret.

Where the CurvX earns it

It fits. At 3.14 inches with the LiDAR dropped, Vacuum Wars calls it tied for the lowest robot it has measured. The S Pro’s fixed tower puts it at 3.8 inches.

It sees more. TechGearLab found it avoided 88% of the obstacles in its course, cords and shoes included. Basic Tutorials found the S Pro handled shoes and toys but missed flat cables.

It cleans carpet hard. Vacuum Wars measured 92% of embedded sand removed from medium carpet, tied for third of more than 205 robots. It also recorded zero hair tangling, and the extending edge mop reaches baseboards that the S Pro’s fixed mops leave alone.

Where the S Pro is the smarter buy

It does the daily work for far less, and more owners think it’s worth what they paid: 67% of value mentions are positive against 56% for the CurvX. The longer claimed runtime helps bigger single-floor homes too.

Its limits are real but manageable. Mark cable areas as no-go zones, add detergent by hand, and don’t expect it to keep up alone with a heavy shedder. Only 177 of 339 pet-hair mentions are happy ones.

Our pick

The Qrevo S Pro. Measure under your couch first, though. If a ruler says 3.5 inches, the CurvX is the only one of the two that will clean there.

FAQ

Does the Qrevo S Pro have a camera?

No. It avoids obstacles with structured light, and Basic Tutorials found it sometimes ran over thin cables. The CurvX adds an RGB camera to structured light and lists 108 object types it recognizes.

Do either of these add detergent automatically?

The Qrevo S Pro doesn't. Its dock has no detergent tank, so you add cleaner to the fresh-water tank yourself. Check the CurvX listing for your bundle before assuming it does.

Can the CurvX climb higher thresholds than the S Pro?

Roborock says its AdaptiLift chassis raises up to 4 cm, about 1.6 inches. Basic Tutorials found the S Pro managed thresholds up to 2 cm without trouble but struggled with taller steps.

Which is better for pet hair?

Neither is a sure thing. Only 52% of S Pro pet-hair mentions are positive. Vacuum Wars saw zero tangling on the CurvX, yet TechGearLab measured 52% pet-hair pickup and had to cut fur from its brushroll.

How we put this together

We compared manufacturer specs and Amazon listing details, read the patterns in Amazon owner reviews (we refresh this snapshot regularly), and scored each product with our published rubric. We have not tested these units hands-on. When we do, the page will say so. Prices change constantly, so we link to the live price instead of quoting one.
